Take the opportunity to share your expertise with leading researchers and shape initiatives in climate Earth system modelling and observations, while collaborating with new colleagues!

The ESMO Scientific Steering Group (SSG) is looking for global experts dedicated to advancing Earth system modelling and observational capabilities. As a member, you will play a key role in the design, development, implementation and monitoring of ESMO's activities to achieve its overall objectives. This includes establishing and coordinating ESMO working groups, developing workshops, identifying new cross-cutting issues, and promoting dialogue with other WCRP groups and external partners. Their contributions will help, among other things, to review and address systematic errors in weather and climate models, and provide valuable insights for Earth system modelling activities.

The SSG, led by two co-chairs and supported by the ESMO International Project Office (IPO), consists of 14 members appointed for an initial term of four years, with two possible two-year extensions. Members may also be involved in additional activities such as workshops, document preparation and the development of new research initiatives.

This role offers a unique opportunity for personal career development, collaboration with world-leading experts and contribution to the strategic planning of WCRP activities.
