The Coupled Model Intercomparison Project (CMIP), part of the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP), is seeking nominations for new Panel members, especially from underrepresented regions such as Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries, and Small Island Developing States.

The CMIP, critical to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and other assessments, aims to coordinate research and deliver climate simulations to address significant climate science questions. The CMIP Panel, a subcommittee of the Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM), oversees CMIP's design and activities, providing recommendations and insights to the WGCM. The panel comprises two co-chairs, four core members, task team co-leads, and other representatives, working closely with the WGCM Infrastructure Panel (WIP) on technical specifications and infrastructure support.

Applications are due by 12:00 UTC, Friday, June 21, 2024. For more details on the call, the Panel and its activities, visit the dedicated page on CMIP's website.
