Call for proposals for CORDEX Flagship Pilot Studies

The CORDEX Science Advisory Team (SAT) invites you to submit new proposals for Flagship Pilot Studies (FPS).

This FPS call includes two parts:

1. Open Topic Submission: Suggest a topic of your choice that aligns with the FPS Criteria & Guidelines.

2. Climate Risks Focus: CORDEX particularly encourages proposals that address Climate Risks and Climatic Hazards. These hazards, such as tropical cyclones, heatwaves, extreme wind storms, droughts, fires, and orography-induced events like extreme rainfall-related floods, landslides, and downslope winds, require high-resolution models for accurate simulation and prediction. CORDEX is inviting FPS proposals that aim to:

   • Assess and improve the simulation of climatic hazards
   • Understand projected future changes
   • Quantify the added value of high-resolution/process-resolving models in simulating these hazards

Proposals addressing the unique challenges faced by Small Islands are particularly welcomed.
