  • The Model Benchmarking Task Team warmly invite you to participate in a dedicated Hackathon to advance development of the Rapid Evaluation Framework (REF) which is being developed both to serve the AR7 Fast Track, but also with community future expansion in mind.

Anyone with fresh ideas or interest, particularly in the following items is strongly encouraged to register:

📊 Rapid evaluation of model simulations, 

🚫 Ensuring the REF is accessible and easy to use, 

🌍 Using the REF in your modelling workflows, or 

📈 Ensuring data is citable and traceable from modelling centre through to uses in IPCC.

The hackathon takes place next week, Monday 10 March – Thursday 13th March, in hybrid format, with both online and in person participation available.

Beta testing modelling centres

For those beta testers (modelling centres) registering to participate in the hackathon, pre-release material is available to allow time to raise any installation issues in advance of the hackathon launch.

Drop-in sessions for modelling centres, observation providers or those with a general interest

There will be a public launch providing an update from the AR7 FT REF delivery team and drop-ins for interested modelling centres and observation providers during the week.  Registration is essential to receive the joining details. 

Opportunities to participate include:

  • Hackathon launch: 10 March 14:00-15:00 UTC 
  • Modelling Centres drop-in: 11 March 17:00 – 18:00 UTC 
  • Modelling Centres drop-in: 13 March 08:00 – 09:00 UTC 
  • Observation dataset provider drop-in: 13 March 11:00 – Midday UTC
