The third Workshop on Machine Learning for Earth System Modelling is set to take place from August 25–27, 2025, at the Universitätsclub Bonn in Germany. This follows two successful workshops on Large-Scale Deep Learning for the Earth System and will be accompanied by a Hackathon on Machine Learning for the Earth System.

📢 Registration and abstract submission will open in April—stay tuned for updates! To receive future announcements, you can subscribe at bWxlc20td29ya3Nob3BAbGlzdGVuLnVuaS1ib25uLmRl.

The workshop will gather leading experts and research groups working on large-scale neural networks for weather and climate. Key topics include:
✔️ Machine learning-based numerical weather prediction
✔️ Climate emulators and ML-based climate models
✔️ ML-based Earth system component models (e.g., ocean and land models)
✔️ Integration of Earth system observations into models
✔️ Model evaluation and explainability
✔️ Datasets for training, evaluation, and benchmarking

This is a unique opportunity to engage with the latest advancements at the intersection of machine learning and Earth system science. Stay tuned for more details!
