Organization and TimelineThe 2025 WCRP Global KM Scale Hackathon is a distributed, collaborative event where nodes across the globe work together under the guidance of a steering committee and a technical group, both composed of node representatives, to develop standardized workflows. Each node will be hosting O(100) scientists, working around a common set of weather&climate data and tools, as well as focussing on region-specific scientific challenges and approaches. The hackathon will broadcast results, discussions, etc. in real time, so that at any given time of the day one of the international nodes will be in charge. A number of preparatory actions are in place, and technical, scientific and logistic meetings are held on a monthly basis. The Gantt chart shows the current set of actions for preparation, which are constantly updated. |
